What to do on a Layover in Atlanta

Ever wondered what to do on a layover? Well I’m here to tell  you! We have a travel bucket list and one of the items is to go to every state! Now I only count going to a state if you leave the airport or your car! You can’t just have a layover or drive through. You have to get out and see some stuff! So we were able to cross Georgia off the list while on our layover to Italy last year.

Find a good place to nap

Seriously, red eyes are not a fools game. And I sleep terribly in a hot plane. We called a hotel nearby and got a room for under $50, and it was the best money we spent! We had an air conditioned room and bed to get some sleep. We got to the hotel around 7 am and slept soundly until about noon. There’s shuttles to airport hotels all the time so that took care of our transportation too!

Get some awesome food

We chose Fox Bro’s BBQ and were NOT disappointed! We got an Uber to pick us up from our hotel and took us straight there. We were watching Diners Drive ins and Dives just a few weeks later and they were on there! It was so cool!

Take it easy

 My boss at the time had served his mission in Atlanta so we had plenty of suggestions but taking it slow was the right choice for us. You’re about to go on an epic adventure! Dave and I are no amateurs when it comes to day trips, but this was also our third time to Europe–so we knew that the best was yet to come!
